I’ve been excited lately about something.
Yesterday I received the certificate of occupancy for MOYOGALLERIA, Austin, Texas.
I will focus on African art.
We will invite African artists for residencies of up to three months.
We will provide the artist with a living and working space.
THE ORANGE SELLER
This is my fruit
eat it while ripe.
The harvest season yields
oranges and apples that you
must first taste
with your naked eye

Adamants who chase the future are overwhelmed by the past and lost in the present. The heaven you seek lies now under your feet.Take it.
Captive No More (III)
7.
Music is the language of tragedy,
and dance, the vocabulary of trauma.
Silence, the death of feelings,
marks the beginning of madness.
After my great grandmother in vain
yelled the name of her son, Akin,
several times, and got no response,
she stepped outside and scanned
where he was playing,
and yelled his name again,
when she did not see him there
her stomach sank
because down in the pit of her womb
she knew he was gone.
Words matter.
Choose them carefully today.
Don’t use words to hurt others,
however good it might feel to hurt them.
Use your words to empower others.
Use your words like building blocks.
Words are worthy and useful only when you use them
to build a better world.
Night BreezeIf you didn’t know that when night falls, the sun would rise the following morning and flood the world with light, you wouldbe scared to go to sleep, wouldn’t you?
