Could Black life matter?

Could Black life matter,

without Black thoughts

and values mattering?

The indigenous African traditions

cannot breathe:

invasive viral forces

have placed their morbid knees

on the throats of indigenous African philosophy,

science, pedagogy, technology,

justice systems, spirituality, cosmology

for hundreds of years.

The indigenous African

Systems are fighting

for their lives.

Let’s make Black life matter

by making Black thoughts matter.

Let’s remove the knees

of the West, East and North

from the asphyxiating throats

of indigenous African traditions.

Black Values Matter

because they are ecologically centered.
