Hope is my only light
Out of all gloomy nights
Whatever hope fights
Hope prevails
It’s good.
Nature is healing.
Life is in becoming.
Time is resetting
The rhythm of time
Could Black life matter,
without Black thoughts
and values mattering?

My edited book on the work of Dotun Popoola is now out.
It looks so magnificent, like a grande Egungun performance.
The publisher says it goes for 50,000 naira per copy.
This hyper-colorful hardcover book that is larger than a royal Agbada arrived at my doorsteps for the New Year.
It is the most beautiful book I have ever seen.
Congrats to the wonderful art historians, Kunle Filani, Tolulope Sobowale, Olusegun Fajuyigbe, and Kehinde Adepegba, who contributed powerful essays to the book.
Those days when I was much younger, I explored photography.Here are some shots of Jummai, then a great model from Northern Nigeria, now a rising woman activist and politician.
As the Chinese launches successfully the second wave of the colonization of Africa, after learning from the techniques of divide and conquer that Europe used for the first wave of conquering the continent, it became necessary for me to do this painting.
I also want to refer to the poem I wrote a couple of months ago, titled, “My Teacher Taught Me Nonsense.”
