And Washington DC?
And, New York, Paris and San Francisco?
And you have traveled to all the capitals of African countries?
There is a revolution going on in Nigeria.
They called it, at first, #EndSARS.
Then it morphed into #endswat.
Like an arrow in flight, nobody knows where it is going.
The youth revolution in Nigeria has caught the entire country by surprise.
The youths of Nigeria are incredibly talented.
Nigerian youths have been handed nothing by my generation.
My generation is the generation of pythons.
My generation of pythons can swallow everything and anything up whole and alive.
But after a python swallows up its victim whole, it cannot move from the spot.
Don’t pick an orange
for its enormous size.
The fatness of the citrus
is not a sign of its sweetness.
I’ve seen large oranges
that are firm and juiceless
And I’ve eaten tiny ones
so sweet and sumptuous
O: THE ORIGIN OF LIFE
To pronounce this sound,
turn your lips into a circle.
Then push the air
through your lips,
gently,
then forcefully.
The sound comes out in a continuous flow
until you are out of breath:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
That is the sound
Èdè means language in Yoruba.
In truth, however, èdè means bond.
Èdè is formed from dè, a verb that means, “to bind.”
