SAY IT NOW

When you speak to yourself at night

be not afraid to speak truth

to thunder using the language of proverbs

to deliver music to homeless soldiers

eating from street dumpsters

with long spoons dining with the devil

wearing rifles loaded with a silver lining

in a cloud of blue smokes

masking without fire

to treat mental illness

in a country running out of options

from a field of broken dreams.

When you speak with the night

drunk with a silent sigh

say it loud to strike the drum

staring down the barrel of the rum

where your day will not fly

your kite into the eternal sky

boldly say it now or forever

sigh to change your mind.
