THIS MORNING

This morning, in my African Diaspora Visions class (an art history class that I teach at the University of Texas, Austin), a student from Trinidad and Tobago said, “In a hundred years, everybody in the world will be a Nigerian, or have family ties to Nigerians.”

I asked her why she said that.

She remarked, “Nigerians are all over the world, taking root, inter-marrying with other people, breeding smart kids. And they are breeding like rabbits.”

And I said to myself, “The British created a monster….”

Attached is a work titled NIGERIAN LOVERS, a work I completed in 1979, before many of my Facebook friends were born.
