The Massacre of General Okoro
Is it funny
or merely coincidental
That, as they killed her son,
the mother was dreaming
She was breastfeeding him?

Rivers of Life
Folks are flowing waters:
We fail to connect upstream,
Downstream we shall meet
Those you shun today,
How many people can be really, really true friends?
Or is friendship restricted to just two people?
Is friendship possible among three or more?
First, Yoruba people are cynical about friendship: the culture outright dismisses the notion of friendship as naïve.
“Ọ̀rẹ́ òtítọ́ ò sí,” is an adage that means “There are no true friends.”
“Ojú larí, ọ̀rẹ́ ò dénú,” means “We see the eye service, but the friendship is not deep.”
The beginning of time.
Is it a house?
Or a kolanut?
Is this thing an insect inside the mystery of life?

I’m not taking the vaccine.
Not yet.
Waiting to see what happens.
The lack of sunlight is depleting the melanin shield of my skin.
But I take Vitamin D supplements to compensate for a lack of access to sunlight.
Last night I was looking for my pet elephant and discovered it was hiding inside my beard.
That’s fake news.
Good fake news.
